I had exactly this problem about six months ago. Found a ASW-CAI flight late in the afternoon with MS that worked well with us heading to Abu Simbel. After getting agreement from the rest of our travelling party (about a week or so later) the flight was fully booked (five and a half months ahead of time). We waited for a few days hoping it would pop back up with availability but never did. Ended up booking on Air Cairo’s flight early afternoon, which meant a very early start to see Abu Simbel (was worth it though).

I don’t know if you can make the Air Cairo flight times work, but we found them perfectly ok. It’s a low cost airline but (I think at least partly) owned by MS. Sorry I can’t give a more concrete answer!
