I'm disappointed to listen to the remarks from Mark today around third-party tools. We (Seats.aero) have tried to reach out and work with Aeroplan several times and have been completely stonewalled by their team. If there are any problems coming from third-party tools, they have never tried to let us know or work with us on them. We are happy to address any issues with search frequency, partner throttling, etc. Seats.aero works across all the major airline alliances and Aeroplan is the only program making these complaints, especially publicly.

I'm also disappointed to see Aeroplan try to paint third-party tools as illegal, which is patently false and defamatory. All travel tools (even tools that claim to have GDS access) rely on web scraping in some form, and no airline has ever taken legal action against them because retrieving public availability information is clearly permitted under applicable laws and case precedent.
