I was able to go into Finnair's web site, manage the reservation with the BA confirmation code, and buy an upgrade to PE on just the one HEL-LHR segment. I am not sure if the ticket was reissued or what exactly, but I flew in PE on the AY A350.

Alternate DP:

Was flying AY with AA numbers and was unable to upgrade online. Attempted upgrade at the airport as there were still seats left and was told that since we were booked on AA numbers they would be unable to do anything.
