Were each of the items inside the pouch noted as having no more than 100ml per liquids/gels/aerosol container?
At some European airports, some of the security screeners don’t believe these kind of pouches are necessarily compliant with the 1 liter limit even when they may be. And when having used one of the simpler airport-supplied one liter bags and placed it inside such pouches, some screeners may be even less credulous about the pouches being compliant with the “war on water” and other liquids/gels/aerosols rules. I’ve used comparable pouches picked up at US stores and never had the TSA make a fuss about them in the US even as sometimes the screeners at European airports make a fuss about them. And BRU is certainly not the only airport where I’ve seen this kind of thing happened either because the screeners are wrong or because some passengers are wrong and pushing the limits in one way or another with regard to the “war on water” rules.
