Update -- I realized that I had points at the E-Rewards survey site that could be redeemed for TB points. I redeemed 100 points there and got 2000 TB points (the points would have been worth maybe $30 towards a different gift card that I didn't really need) However, it then told me that it could take 6-8 weeks to show up! So I started looking at using Chase UR points again. Fortunately, I checked the JetBlue site before submitting that, because it turns out that the E-Rewards points only took around an hour to show up. Was able to use them to buy both tickets and only paid $11.20 in taxes (and put them on a BofA PR card that should cover them as an incidental travel expense). So, my problem is solved. And the points ended up saving me $67 between the value of the points and the taxes that I was not charged.
