you’ll be fine. I just made a trip with my new cabin plus and both flights had a 737-900 equipment. Even in that smallish aircraft the crew didnt say anything when i boarded and the bag fit easily in the overhead either vertically or laying flat.

Did you put your Cabin Plus wheels in or wheels out? The reason I ask is that my Cabin Plus will not allow the bin to close if placed vertically (like a book), but I've only tried wheels in. I don't know why wheels out would make a difference, but maybe there's some extra space.
