Yes, if First Class were available on either of the two nonstop flights that’ll be utilized to get you from BQN to ACA. But alas, only cattle class is available on both airlines involved. Each airline will operate completely different aircraft. Can you identify both airlines, both equipment types and the routing?
Seat 2A: Arrow Air to JFK is correct! But it was not a DC-8. It was a 727-200. Pan Am is incorrect between JFK and ACA. Additionally, I'm not sure a fully loaded all-economy 727-200 would've had the legs for this route - a -100 maybe more likely. If PA ever operated a single class 72S, it would likely have been in shuttle service out of JFK to BOS/DCA
Now, I'm focused on JFK-ACA in isolation. You told me that the airline isn't PA and the a/c type isn't a 727-200, though you left the 727-100 door a tiny bit ajar. Regardless, whether or not "shuttle configuration" was an intentional hint, you've triggered Eastern in my memory bank because they certainly used single class planes, and there's no reason they couldn't have deployed them on leisure routes. So, for this guess, I'm going with
Arrow Air DC 8-50 BQN-JFK
EA A300 JFK-ACA
You may have missed the post above - or at the very least misinterpreted it. Not only that, As I said. "Arrow Air to JFK is correct! But it was NOT a DC-8. It was a 727-200." I gave you the answer because on a two flight itinerary, if I told you a 727-200 was involved, but it wasn't on the second leg... well, you see the issue there.
So - fahgeddabout Arrow Air. We've already solved it. It's flying a 727-200 BQN-JFK. Any further focus on 727s of any variant may prove to ultimately be an enjoyable endeavor but will have no further relevance to this question in any way.
As for the second flight - JFK-ACA - alas, it was not Eastern, nor was the aircraft an A300. That said, there are not a lot of other options on this route. PA and EA are out. It's 1986, so the airline must be ________________
