I'm also based at MSY. I have a relative in Memphis, and if it's a sunny day there, I'll go visit and then drive the 2 hours or so to Arkansas. Otherwise, I am driving anywhere (Texas preferred, or north of Memphis) that has a sunny day. If I don't find a place to stay, I will sleep in my VW Jetta IV Wagon. There should be someone renting an AirBnB for $100 that will make room.
