Ah it seems like I am slightly late to the party again.
Flew TPE-LAX 2 days ago, and I have to say it is fantastic. I would put out a full review later on the yt channel in my signature, but guess this is a quick TR for folks who are interested in knowing what to expect for their 60k redemption
1. as stated in the post above, TPE JX late night US departures leave from T2, but their Galactic lounge is in T1. It is possible to transfer to T1 airside, but all flights there have finished by the time you check in for your LAX flight so you only can go to Oriental lounge, but I can say this is the best PP lounge I have ever seen. Gorgeous decor, shower suites, charging everywhere, delicious food spread, made-to-order Taiwanese dishes, and people patrolling to clear out dishes.

2. seat is very nice. avoid 3rd row as advised by their seatmap, and you should be mostly fine. Screen is HUGE, wireless charging not useful at all but nice to have, storage is a little bit limited other than a large storage space on shoulder level towards the window, and the doors are not too useful either. But the leg space is great as it fully utilizes the curve of the fuselage, and 0G config is actually comfortable. Everything is provided: flip flops, very comfotable PJ, great amenity kit, nice pillow, solid mattress with turndown service. And I have to add the blanket is the most comfortable one I have ever touched in the air. My flight had 30% LF in J, but FA's told me it is usually higher than 50%. F was completely empty.

3. everything is LA Clippers or Dodgers themed for some reason. the BP, coffee stirrer, tissue paper, packaged snacks, and the free passport cover they give you as you board, are all with huge Clippers logo with a tiny starlux logo. Yet I can bet 90% of passengers have no idea what it is. Very confusing but good to see them trying, but have me worried about them wasting money on these brand deals that serve little to nothing.
4.food is PHENOMENAL. Insanely good presentation with interestingly nearly all western-style dishes for dinner. 1 is the signature menu that has no options, which is what I chose, and there is another version of "standard" meals that has 3 main options. The soup is apparently upon request even though it was not mentioned on the menu that it was by request only. Very delicious nonetheless. Snacks are abundant. After meal, FA gave me a whole bunch of packaged snacks, and then there are also classic Taiwanese beef noodle soup or Wagyu burger for mid-flight snacks made to order. Breakfast has western style with 3 choices, and a classic Taiwanese yam porridge that I ate growing up in street side stalls, with 7 accompanying dishes.

5. drinks are very good. Great 2 champagne combinations, with 5 different signature cocktails, with the cosmo 2.0 as the blue drink seen in above photo. They have ice coffee and ice green tea which was great, and they have Taiwanese bubble tea! WITH BRANDED STRAWS! how cool is that?

6. service is extremely good, and dare I say, near perfect, if you speak Mandarin. All FA super helpful, never waited more than 10s for flight attendant button call. They also are very friendly if you can be more personal, esp in Mandarin since their English is not perfectly fluent. Some helped me take photos, and advising me to pose certain ways as a joke. Pursor came around 3 separate times to ask me how my flight was. I asked them for a straw as a souvenir but they gave me a bag full of goodies instead, seen below. (Yes, it has clippers branded eye-mask, tissue paper, stirrer, poker, napkins, snacks...)

I think after everything, I think this may be the best J flight I have ever had in my life. Nearly everything was perfect, with the lack of their own lounge situation, which apparently they say they are trying to fix. For 60k, this is probably the best deal in the sky. For 75k, it is still an insane value, which I might even say better than CX's 50k because I think this is worth 1.5 CX imho. Hope they can stick around for the future, as this is the best new airline this past decade, with no contention. But I am slightly worried about its long term viability with this load factor and strange brand deals.
