Is it possible to call AA's number for AS SWU and ask them to check availability for you on a specific flight? Are they willing to do that? Because I have a few flights in a few dates in mind and I cannot find a way for sure to know if SWU will clear immediately, they should help us look for availability over the phone?
Additionally, it looks like for us AS elites, we will still be at the end of the upgrade queue, behind even AA gold, so chances of our short haul clearing is virtually non-existent, so I need to make sure the chances to clear the long haul is as high as possible.
