One time I had a flight with a little clip in the seat in front of me to hold the cell phone (I want to say it was a 757 in 2019 or so). I wish they would include that in more aircraft as it really provides the best of both worlds.
Those armrest buttons are in the absolute worst place possible. On a recent flight I had to point out to the guy next to me that the controller he was trying to use wasn't malfunctioning, it was for my screen, not his.
