If JetBlue does what other airlines with "guarantees" do, it probably means the family will have to choose a different flight with available pairs of adjacent seats.
It is important to note the FAA "family seating" guidance only means a child 13 or under is sat next to one adult; it does NOT mean a whole family group is seated together.
