There are definitely travel patterns that can work from NYC on AA! Unfortunately, it doesn't fit my travel patterns well. I rarely fly transcon, but I fly to West Coast Florida a lot. Connecting at CLT/DCA to get to Florida just isn't appealing when I can get multiple non-stops on other airlines.
