I’d connect mainly via CLT and DFW, are there Admiral Clubs everywhere like Delta has SCs all over ATL, so you’re always close to your gates or do those airports not have as many Admiral Clubs, which would require a lot of layover time to be spent to and from the gate and lounge?

AA has multiple Admirals Clubs in every hub airport. At DFW there's one in every terminal and CLT has two. You can find a list of all AC's and their locations at aa.com, but worrying about spending time walking between the gates and AC's is really a non issue. At pretty much every airport AA serves with an AC the time from a club to/from AA gates is not going to be more than a 5-10 min walk.
