Alaska refusing to credit mileage for American Airlines flights
I’m a mileage plan member, trying to get MVP status. I’ve taken several domestic AA flights recently and I had my Alaska mileage plan number added to all reservations, however, I didn’t receive credit. I used the Alaska online tool to request missing mileage, it showed as pending for a long time and later changed to “Declined:Class of Service not eligible”, my booking fare for all reservations was B which is supposed to earn 25% according to Alaska’s site. I called Alaska to request the missing mileage credit, the representative sent me an email and asked for me to reply with documentation showing flight numbers, ticket numbers and booking code. I sent the reservation confirmations containing all the information she requested.
I received the following response today: “Thank you for contacting Alaska Airlines Customer Care. This flight is not eligible for credit to your account since we have no partnership agreement with Republic Airways . You are only able to receive mileage credit for flights operated by one of our airline partners. Please visit alaskaair.com/content/mileage-plan/partners/partner-overview.aspx for a complete list of our travel partners.”
I’ve never heard of this before and never had a problem requesting mileage for AA domestic flights operated by Republic Airways or any of the other regional carriers that fly on behalf of American Airlines.
Any recommendations on how to get the miles credited?
