Historicallt speaking, Delta, and more so with Northwest were strong AS marketing partner. Many of these flyers have also flown AS and had to forcefully make changes when marketing partnership ended, Seattle Delta hub created. I believe they are technically also AS refugees.

Sure, this promotion might implicate my reduced upgrade opportnities, but I believe this is the correct gesture knowing many are past AS flyers recently being abandoned by DL. (It's not the first time Delta does this.) Am hopeful that this action will help reduce future seasonal cutbacks (like what we are expected in January), and help maintain AS lying level yearlong.
