Yes, of course. My rant is that all the decent seats have already gone by the time I book, paying £7-8,000 for the seat by the toilets seems a little excessive.
I can't really think of a solution to this though, on a popular flight that most others have booked before you, there's really not a lot that can be done about it?
Other than something controversial like changing the policy that allows Silver/Sapphire to choose a seat for free at time of booking.
Or even more controversial, if you've paid a higher fare than someone who already selected a seat, you should be able to kick them out and take it!
