While I get your point, for me, one purpose of buying a 3000 EUR J ticket is that I do not need to worry about things. I don't need to go to the supermarket the day before the flight to buy a sandwich for my journey. I don't need to pack my bag paying attention to where my moisturizer is in case I need to use it on the flight etc. Here, AY simply doesn't deliver.
Of course, you're partially right, too. Once the Adios thing goes live, I will buy my longhaul tickets based on a combination of price and schedule (and loyalty will not be a factor anymore). In this scenario, the amenity kit, although it's nice to have, doesn't play any role and even if the airline omitted it completely I would not base my purchase decision on that.
