FWIW -- My wife has a penchant for booking her tickets using PayPal and while at some level of UA's accounting PayPal will be identified, SHARES (and the website and agents) see the form of payment as a 016 EMD ("Electronic Miscellaneous Document") and if there's any excess/a subsequent change with increased fare it's shown as an ADD-COLLECT and the 2nd FOP.

​​​Neither of us have a chase CC so I can't comment on how it may affect cardholder benefits.

(It is almost like the way PayPal has been hacked in is that UA first issues a PTA/generated the EMD, completes that transaction with PayPal, then credits the EMD to the flight PNR and tickets it)
