Chase's written reply is disingenuous and unresponsive. I will let the matter drift for a few days before deciding how to respond.

I'm not trying to by snarky, but that sounds slightly better than Chase's typical response to a Secure Message, in my experience. However, I would have have expected a response to CFPB complaint to be significantly better, even meaningful.
I won't blame you a bit if you drop it. Trying to get a calcified monolith like Chase to do anything out of its normal procedures is likely to be a Sisyphean task. But since it's no effort on my part, I encourage you to kick the beast another time.
