HadesNL ... if I am not mistaken (and correct me if I am wrong) you already have a lounge pass from 2022 stays which you claimed on 1 January 2023. That means you have a lounge pass to 31 December 2024.
I don't quite understand why you would claim another one for 2023 stays on 1 January 2024, as that will give you overlapping passes:
Pass from 2022 stays: 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2024
Pass from 2023 stays: 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2025
Isn't it better to wait till 2024 and clock up 40 nights and claim on 1 January 2025 (if you can)?
I will be in the same position next year and was thinking that it isn't necessary to claim the lounge pass in the second year. The only reasons I can think of are:
1. You don't expect to achieve 40 nights in the third year (2024 in your case) and therefore better to claim the pass and at least get another year
2. IHG at some point make it harder to get the lounge pass (say, 50 or 60 nights) so you may as well claim what you can now.
Any thoughts?
