Can't pay on BA web site (again)

I can't get the BA web site to accept my credit card details (tried with 4 cards in 2 countries) on the BA web site for a cash booking. By "not accept" I mean it says there is an error on the form (normally in the "saved card" drop down but occasionally an error where there is no apparent red dot). It's not even trying to charge the card. This is the third time in a row this has happened, which is super infuriating.

I then rang the GGL line (10 minutes on hold, 20 further minutes to do a simple one way flight in Europe for cash), I'm on hold (10 minutes so far for the GGL line) to do this with cash. Here the credit card went through (first time), and was billed, but for some reason the credit card number was not recorded in my e-Ticket, so I had to provide it again, and I was put on hold again in order for their "colleague in ticketing" to fix it.

Am I incredibly unlucky or does BA have this problem with all their customers? If people can't buy tickets online from them, how do they survive?
