Not every airline requires you to show you boarding pass before allowing online checkin and issuing a boarding pass. But they will do a document check at the gate. I have no idea how Starlux handles this, but if I managed to get a boarding pass from the website or app, I would proactively go to the gate about 30 minutes before boarding starts and ask if they want to see my passport. And if I could not get a boarding pass ahead of time, I would go to the checkin area. Is there a Starlux check in area post-security at LAX? Or would I have to leave post-security, go to Starlux pre-security check in, and then go through security again.
