I’ve never redeemed Chase points any other way, and I’ve never had trouble. On the rare occasions when I’ve had to make a change, I call the number, get an agent, and make the change, just as I would with an airline. My recollection is short wait times to call Chase, unlike the airline. It’s just like any other online travel agent. And changing a frequent flyer ticket issued by one airline (BA) and operated by another is anything but frictionless….
