At least in the past, Finnair has used Amadeua Altéa to keep an "optimal seating" continously. Meaning they allocate a seat to every customer based on a secret algorithm as soon as the ticket is sold. These seat allocations are not shown anywhere, and the seat map appears empty. This seat map is dynamic, and as soon as one passenger choses/buys a seat, everyone in the "optimal seating" chart is re-arranged. When people start to check-in and did not choose a seat, this "optimal seating" is used.
