- Would I be able to check my luggage all the way to ADL in YVR?
- If there are delays on YVR-SYD, would I be protected on a later flight to ADL?
- I would like to book with Virgin Australia as I have status with United, should I stick with Qantas (even though they are expensive) just so I can take advantage of the first 2 points?

Not my greateast area of expertise but going to take a stab at this one. You will not be protected on the ADL flight b/c its on a separate PNR. Likewise I dont believe they are going to check all the way through. Now if you stick with Qantas maybe you can put the PNR's together and then check bags all the way as well as be protected. Just was down under and flew Virgin and it was nice but I was expecting more given the reviews I read make them sound so much better than Qantas for the domestic flights. They have some old planes still w/ out charging ports or an IFE and I got stuck on that and their lounges are like so crowded and so under staffed, I def. preferred my Qantas flight of the same length (this comparison is for J). However, the gnocchi on Virgin was quite good and by far better than any thing in the US domestic F for short haul flights.
