Actual issues experienced in the last three years:

- dirty rooms
- NO towels in the room
- worn carpets
- trash in hallways (probably due to housekeeping cutbacks)
- Stupid F&B Credit and ALL of its related issues, mostly with accounting and fixing bills after the fact
- Poorly trained front desk staff fiddling on their phones in the back room.
- Failure to acknowledge or apply status benefit correctly
- Fitness rooms and breakfast areas not open at stated times
- broken fitness equipment
- reduction of housekeeping to “on request” — a request that MIGHT get honored… or maybe not.
- A hotel that attempted to add an undisclosed mandatory housekeeping tip on check-out.
- A hotel clerk that lied about space availability, upgrades, and benefits. (Not misdirected… not deflected… outright lied.)
- Hotels that haven’t bothered to remove or update their outdated COVID signage.

Etc.

Except for the time that I showed up and there were NO towels, towels never crossed my mind. In that case, it was quickly rectified after a call to the front desk.

(Of course, I realize that these complaints are not all restricted to Hilton. There was the IHG property that didn’t have *any* hand soap or creamer anywhere on property… and nobody on staff even thought to run down to the local Wal*Mart to provide basic guest sanitation and satisfaction. This hotel did actually have a strict “two towels per room” limit, even if you had four people to the room. I reported them to the state health department.)
