Much of Asia has a photo ID recording and photo ID checking obsession that is unlike that which is to be found in the Nordic countries.
My post was in reference to countries specified in the post which I quoted: Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. My check-in at hotels in the Nordic region since the start of 2020 have involved photo ID checking less than 1% of the time, and photo ID recording even less frequently than that. AirBNB hosts in these Nordic countries don’t commonly ask me to show government issued photo ID, but AirBNB itself does have an ID whether or not the hosts want to see photo ID or not.
