general tactics here as BA Gold/Emerald…pick the WTP seat next to window bassinets…if WTP oversold /busy etc…v good chance of an op up…as a bronze I don’t fancy your chances ymmv….

ScottishPoet, yes, that phantom blocking I was referring to was this theoretical seating, but now I see that's not the issue since we're not that close to departure. Lddn1, aha, that's us and it's eye-opening; our best hope at this point is 2 seats together, with 20A/B being best, but if we could get one aisle (eg, 20D/E we'd be a lot better off than our current 22E/F, and then we'd just have to hope for no baby to bump us. I'll keep watching hoping to get lucky, but we'll certainly act on NoTiers' info and try hard on BA MBB 72 hours out. (And appreciate the advice about not getting our boarding pass too early.)
