You could try to get BA to reticket into First, but I can see the hassle that may involve. It's 675 miles, so a 90 minute flight. If it's the 19:05 departure from PHL then it does look sold (or probably upgraded) out. That's a 319 so there are only 8 First seats and no option to push back the curtain. However at the moment the Main Cabin looks fairly empty so they may get an empty middle seat. Rows 16 and 17 for example. You can claim Mennens on that, see the main EC261 thread, but it won't be a lot for that, and it may be easier to ask for some Avios instead.

In the "Reasons For" thread we now know that BA223 was TECY due to a door fault so that is clearly claimable.
