Not anymore. That stopped being so years ago. What you are keeping will be repriced as if you were buying that fresh now and subtract from it the current ticket value, that is your difference (refund or additional collection due). It's exactly the same if you cancel the RT and rebook OW the flights that you want. I've tried, believe me, and no agents, escalation agents, even GTS supposedly, cannot work around this.
