Why do ordinary people have to suffer just because two governments get into a spat? I'm referring to Canadian and European universities that are declining Chinese scholars due to the infamous 10043 order signed by Trump, even though they are not part of the complex China-US relations.
India has another proverbial card up its sleeves. Students are a lucrative cash cow and since the HuaWei spat, Indian students have replaced Chinese students as the most-lucrative source of income for Canadian universities. If
they disappear, I could see lots of Canadian universities facing a cash crunch, and employers in various sectors losing a source of labour.
