After submitting the claim I get a following email reply:

"To check the status of your case, click here. Please note our Call Centre is unable to provide case updates."

With the click here being linked directly to https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...support.html#/

This is merely the default customer support page; with no ability to check the status of a case. Is this an IT bug or is AC purposely trying to prevent people from checking in on cases??
