The over-flying of politically unstable countries mentioned in the article is interesting as well. I know with Singapore flights, BA routes over Saudi, where as LH/LX (and SQ) overfly Iran. Potentially less of an issue with flights to DXB/AUH, but if there was a diversion, I would not like to end up in Iran.
