Your point is valid, but the numbers are off: it was 12/week per side (US & China), so 24/week total, up until September this year, then increased in September to finally reach 24 flights per week per side (US & China) by end of October.
Those 12 new flights remain in my "seeing is believing" bucket. I will also note that the airlines have been remarkably silent about this exciting development.
