I haven't booked flight from HKT yet, but thinking to arrive around late morning / early afternoon the day before so that we can fit in maybe 1-2 sights since it'll be our first time in Thailand / Bangkok. Wife has Hilton Gold so thinking of staying at the Conrad and booking 2 connecting rooms.
Would it be better to fly into DMK if I plan to stay in the city or is BKK preferred?
Would Conrad be a good choice so that we could easily get in a few touristy sights and get to airport quickly in the morning?
Google maps doesn't seem to give accurate travel time, but how long would it be to take transit from Conrad to BKK and what time would be best to leave on a Sat morning?
Also, depending when we have to leave for airport, think we'll have time to enjoy the breakfast before leaving?
If so, I think wife's Gold status gets breakfast for 2 people while we have 4. Do they allow paying for +1 or +2 at time of breakfast, or it's just better to book both rooms at the rate that includes breakfast?
If it is your first time in Bangkok, I would suggest maybe leaving one full day.
I would never go on the LCCs that go to DMK, so BKK all the way for me - travel time should be similar though.
Conrad is still my favourite (maybe I am biased), and is a great place, well connected and all. On a Saturday morning it should not take you more than 40 mins (conservative) to Suvarnabhumi, and given you are in J the lounge options are actually pretty good as an alternative to hotel breakfast
