I have paid a cash upgrade to get onto a real suite. (On a points stay plus tsu).
Aside from picking up 100 to 200 square feet in room size, the cost of a king bedroom suite vs a standard room (in October) over 4 nights is about a $1500 difference in price. I think it's a pretty good use of a suite upgrade award but that is just me.
At check in, they may offer you an upgrade to a one bedroom for $200 per night give or take. I think the one bedroom suites are pretty nice.
