Special meal on DL-booked partner flights

Is there truly no way on delta.com or delta app to request and verify that a special meal request exists for a partner-operated flight?

1. In July, booked a trip on delta.com for September KL/AF operated flights: SFO-AMS-IST-CDG-SFO
2. Couldnt find any option on delta.com or delta app to request diabetic meal
3. Called agent on booking day, she contacted partner liason and forwarded meal request; she asserted that request was for entire journey
4. Nothing on MyTrips in delta.com or delta app shows meal request status.
5. Was served the special meal on SFO-AMS [and it was the best Y diabetic meal I have had!]
6. No special meal on CDG-SFO; purser showed me on tablet that there was no meal request.

As a rule, I carry appropriate food with me outbound for delays, layovers, and the occasional "we gave your special meal to someone else because we thought all indian-looking people had requested vegetarian meals so we didnt bother checking that yours was a DBML". However, it isnt always possible to stock up for the return leg due to unreliable access to markets and/or food hygiene concerns.

I could have booked on KL/AF directly and would have been able to make and verify meal request. And received more MQD as well!

But I decided to give Delta my $ to prove my loyalty and patriotism.

Does delta.com and delta app really have no way to request and verify special meal request for partner-operated flights?!?!?! Am I missing something obvious?

Your insights greatly appreciated!
