I don't think they intend to sell those seats by charging NT 400,000 for the sub-par First Class cabin to North America. A transfer via Tokyo on JAL or ANA nets a better product and lower price (albeit a transfer is needed, but it's US 4-5000 less for a round trip).

The separate check in at LAX is not necessary and the complimentary ride probably only cost NT 2,000 (and there are limits to where you can book before you incur a charge!)

I am not sure why they need to issue that ill-mannered notice and they revert it to 3/1. Maybe they will limit the number of tickets that will be released per flight? Most people (if not stupid), will aim to get that ticket used before 3/1 and say goodbye to this program.
This seems to follow the Taiwanese business formula that I’ve observed countless times over many years

1. create a great, innovative product and business
2. begin making stupid decisions or taking shortcuts, or both
3. double down on the stupid decisions due to a combination of arrogance and hubris
4. watch the business implode while standing there with a confused look

Unfortunately Starlux seems to want to get started on this cycle pretty early. At least companies like HTC and TSMC had a few decades under their belts before starting to meltdown.

They actually have a great product, but hardly anyone knows about it at these prices.
