Could also simply be "too many claims for the same dates in the same places", essentially going against the T&Cs. Especially if you are booking BRGs and then cancelling them when you get a better one approved for the same hotel / city.
I got this around 4 months ago and had some further correspondence with a supervisor, explaining why some BRGs had been cancelled or trip dates modified and claims resubmitted (hospitalisation, family emergency etc) then I sent a spreadsheet showing the percentage of Marriott stays and nights over the few years that were BRGs, normal cash stays etc. I was absolutely furious that they accused me of “circumventing the rules” and threatened to stop staying at Marriotts for the rest of the year and switch to Hyatt. They replied and said after reviewing my information, said I could submit BRG claims again. Since then I haven’t actually done any. As far as I’m concerned, if we are finding too many BRGs then it’s their problem, not mine, as this shows they are clearly ripping off members when lower prices are being found on third party sites.
