Thanks for the tip. Should've done that 3 days ago and saved me 2 times the 9.99 fee.
However, I'm visiting from Europe and probably won't be in an E-Z pass area for a long time. So spending $30 now might no longer be worth it for me.
Looks like at least there's no idle fee for the NY issued variant. At least I couldn't find anything about that
