The app is your friend. That's my experience. There may only be a few seats left on the next available flight, and the app can get you one of those seats quickly if there is a delay or cancellation that affects your itinerary. When there are limited seats, that's invaluable. You can be rebooked before others even figure out where to get in line for in person assistance.
