I'm booking SYD Perth on Virgin. About 800 Australian dollars for the 4 to 5 hour flight rt. Might I earn more by booking 2 one ways so I don't hit the max allowance or will I not be close to that? think it's 500 points max per flight...but always a bit confused what I'll earn. I'll be booking direct from Virgin. Thanks...
The PQP calculator doesn't seem to be set up for VA (
https://pqp.economiles.com ). VA is a preferred partner, so it'd be a max of 750 PQP per segment in economy. Use the chart here:
https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...australia.html and then divide by 5.
The cap is applied per segment, not per trip, so it doesn't matter whether you book as a round-trip or not. SYD-PER is 2041 miles, so you'll earn anywhere from 103 PQP each way on deepest discount economy to 408 PQP each way on full-fare.
