Hotel prices in Dublin are just absolutely disgusting at the moment. There is rampant gouging going on, and a huge amount of hotel space is for Ukrainian refugees at the moment, reducing the pool available for tourists.
For London look to the Premier Inns. They're not luxurious but they're ok. You can usually find a cheap enough one along the Elizabeth Line near Heathrow. Plenty of £70 or £80 ones on the outskirts for a random Friday night in a few weeks time.
