Recently signed up to the Amex Premium Plus card with the 60k if you spend 5k bonus that's currently on offer. Plan was to easily hit this by paying for things on a family holiday coming up in Florida but I noticed in the T&Cs it said that foreign transactions weren't included in the 5k build up.

I assumed it meant that foreign currency purchases (e.g. Travelex) and foreign transaction fees (the 3%) weren't included but I contacted Amex through the chat function and was told that all qualifying transactions must be made in GBP. Is that true?

Searched this forum and couldn't see the answer for certain, apologies if already asked!
