you must have earned at least 1 Avios in the 12 months before booking in order to take advantage of Reward Flight Saver.
I don't currently have a way (that I am aware of) in earning Avios as I have just transferred UR over, is there a way to earn without opening a BA card?

LHR to AMD or CDG is a short distance. Can do both by train from central London to city centre.

Also are other airports in the London area that may be more convenient.
As well as airfares & bags need to consider the cost and time to get to/from the airport. And the time for security, immigration and just waiting.
Depending on your location in London and destination in Paris - Amsterdam point to point on the train can be a similar cost-time.
