Another difference that might be worth considering is how strict each airline is with carry-on size and especially weight.
Air Asia allows two pieces but the combined weight must not be more than 7kg, which is difficult if you have a laptop and a lot of electronics and valuables across two bags. I don't know about Bangkok Airways.
Being hassled to check and pay extra what is meant to be your carry-on and can not even be checked because it's all either valuables, documents and electronics, is a major headache.
In January 2022 Ais Asia advertised an option to pay for extra 7kg of carry-on. I am looking at some flights now and I don't even see the option to add this. They call it "
Xtra Carry On".
