I find queues at EDI being pretty much unpredictable, having seen everything from overcrowding to an empty check-in hall (my personal record stands at 3 passengers in total, including myself), even when arriving for exactly the same flight. The general rule seems to be that there will be lengthy queues at BA check-in whenever I have a bag to go into the hold, and none when I go HBO...
