Thanks to you both for the help.

I ended up using my laptop because I had trouble on the app.

There’s a checkbox that is automatically checked stating “I’m flying” and I unchecked it. Entered my info manually and selected AA as my FFP. Entered my number and it seemed to work.

The app kept giving me an error about the number format but it worked on desktop.

I was able to select XL seats for us both and I was given an extra baggage in hold.
