Called today to cancel CSR, which I have had since the card was introduced. I told the agent I was interested in closing my account, and he said "sure, I can help you with that." He clicked around for a few minutes and said "it says to inform the customer that the card is now closed..." I wasn't bluffing about canceling the card, but I would have considered keeping it if they made some kind of retention offer. $200k+ total spend on the card since 2016.
I was surprised that there was zero effort to get me to keep the card. No reminders of the card benefits, no "are you sure you want me to cancel?"
